Privacy & Terms
Waking Dream is a private place to keep your days, your dreams, and your sits — and to notice the threads between them. This page says plainly what we collect, what we do with it, and the terms of using the beta. No fine print buried in fine print.

Your privacy
What we keep. Only what you put in: the entries you write, speak, film, or import; the voice, photos, and video you attach to them; and the few details you choose to share about yourself — your name, birthday, and home place — so the Archive can read your days in context.
It is yours, and it is private. Your archive belongs to you. It is walled off per person at the database level (row-level security in Supabase), so no other user — and no casual query — can reach your entries. We built this for one reader first: you.
The intelligence, and where your words travel. To transcribe your voice, structure an entry, and reflect it back to you, Waking Dream sends the relevant text and audio to two AI providers: Anthropic (Claude, for reading and reflection) and OpenAI (for transcribing voice and some structuring). They process it to return a result and do not keep it to train their models. Nothing leaves the app for AI unless it is part of producing your entry or a reflection you asked for.
Where it lives. Your entries and profile are stored in Supabase; the audio, images, and video you add live in private storage that is not publicly reachable.
What we will never do. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your entries to train our own or anyone else's models. Your inner life is not a product.
Leaving, any time. You can export everything you have written, and you can delete your account and all of its contents. It is your archive to carry out or to close. Write to us and we will help you do either.
A note about the beta
Waking Dream is an early private beta. It is offered as-is, and it will have rough edges — features that shift, occasional errors, the odd thing that breaks. We are building it in the open with a small circle of people, and your patience is part of how it gets good.
Because it is beta: please keep your own backup of anything precious. Use the export, or keep a copy elsewhere, of writing you could not bear to lose. We take real care with your data — and we still ask you not to make this the only home for something irreplaceable while the ground is still settling.
The terms, plainly
You own your content. Everything you create in Waking Dream is yours. Using the app does not give us ownership of your words, your voice, or your images. We only handle them to run the service for you — to store, process, transcribe, and reflect them back.
Acceptable use. Use Waking Dream for your own personal journaling and reflection. Please don't use it to break the law, to store or share content that harms others, or to attack, overload, or reverse-engineer the service. Accounts are by invitation and are meant for the person invited.
No warranty, limited liability. During the beta the service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, and without a guarantee of uptime or that data will never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, Catalyst Studio Inc. is not liable for indirect or incidental loss arising from using the beta. This is why we ask you to keep backups of anything precious.
Who stands behind it. Waking Dream is made and operated by Catalyst Studio Inc. These terms are governed by the laws that apply where Catalyst Studio Inc. is established. We may update this page as the app grows; the date at the top always tells you when it last changed.
